Family Connections: The Rise of Aboriginal Women's Painting in the Desert - November 21, Thursday

In this lecture, visiting scholar Marina Strocchi will discuss how Aboriginal women in the desert of Australia came to begin painting. Strocchi will outline and explain the influential events which led to a moment in 1996 when Papunya Tula Arts took a radical turn and invited a host of Kintore and Kiwirrkurra women to paint for them.
